-10 pc. set/ Mixed Media on canvas- 18" x 24" (Aerosol paint. paint marker, gold foil, illustration board)-
The visual aid of the common household "Arm & Hammer" Baking Soda box is used in this array of paintings. Along with cleaning and cooking, baking soda is a well-known ingredient in the production of crack cocaine. The text "Baking Soda" is replaced on the boxes with unlikely words that are synonyms with the distribution/usage of this drug. Repetition is so prominent in this series due to its importance/relevance within current issues.(10% proceeds will be donated to The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University)

The Chicago flag is used within this piece as a visual aid to speak on the ills of a city in the Midwest of America and its hidden history with people of color. Chicago is depicted as a pioneer of architecture, entertainment, and trading on the global front while at the same time being synonymous with political corruption and bribery. The city is also plagued with a history of gang/mob activity and gun violence which has a direct connection to the obvious lack of resources aimed towards certain areas. This is visually depicted within this piece with the word 'GANGS" being found within the stars and the two AK-47 bullets within the light blue stripes. The traditional Chicago flag has four stars, however, I decided to add one to represent the creatives in the city that are changing the percepection of a place millions call home.
5 Platonic Solids
5 piece set/ Mixed media on canvas - 30'' x 30'' (Acrylic paint, illustration board, gold foil)- Short film for paintings here.
In three-dimensional space, the 5 Platonic solids are regular, convex polyhedron that are named after the ancient Greek philosopher Plato. Not only are they connected to the classical elements (Fire, Air, Earth, Water) but they are also found throughout every element within the Periodic Table. This knowledge allows one to feel connected to not only every living entity on this planet but also with the known universe as a whole. The fact that we share the smallest parts of our biological system with stars millions of light years away will hopefully bring confidence that anything is possible.

Meant to illustrate one of the main components (soda/pop) that contain extreme amounts of artificial sugar (esp. in America) and contributes to a list of growing health concerns around the world. The distribution of this unnatural substance is directly related to the increased amount of people suffering from heart disease, diabetes, obesity and a number of other health issues around the globe. In addition, companies in the food industry are given exclusive/legal rights over naturally grown plant (coca leaf) substances that have been used by indigenous people for centuries, resulting in monopoly based business ethics. Making it more difficult to obtain clean drinking water in certain countries than a substance that contains more sugar in one bottle/can than the human body should ever be forced to ingest.
3 piece set/ mixed media on canvas - 24'' x 60'' (Acrylic paint, illustration board, gold, silver, and bronze foil) Short film for series found here.
Using the popular image of the 'emergency broadcast system' that appears on televisions during interruptions, the topic of bias and propaganda directed media outlets are visually discussed. With two pieces showcasing the possibility of one-sided news (pro or anti) and a third piece that represents the outlets that actually promote unity, peace, and understanding. With the assistance of symbols and languages to aid the viewer to detect which piece within the series represents what side, the conversation of media being used as a tool to sway the opinion of the general public can hopefully begin. A connection is also made in correlation with the Olympic medals in regards to the level of importance that America views the three different viewports of media as it fits within the US agenda.
